INVENT GmbH focused on sustainable lightweight technologies as part of the Kosel R&D project: ” Circular open-source toolbox for electrically powered pool vehicles”. The result of this promising work was awarded with the Sustainability Award in Automotive and can currently be admired at the Hannover Fair.
INVENT was responsible for the development of an innovative fiber composite leaf spring with a novel connection and sensor concept. The integrated SHM network continuously records the condition of the spring. Both during operation and at the end of the vehicle’s life, the condition can be described holistically. The undamaged spring can thus be used safely and sustainably throughout its lifetime. Anyone interested in learning more about the concept and its implementation can currently experience the leaf spring live at the Hannover Messe in Hall 17 at the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft’s Stand A12 in the form of a complete demonstrator.
